The Sun - Free energy for the future!
Desert power
offers great opportunities for a global energy policy. Harrisburg,
Chernobyl, Forsmark and not at least Fukuchima clearly show that the
large nuclear remaining risk is not to control a disaster. A quick
exit is more compelling than ever. Even if the nuclear operator
insure that the current price will increase by shutdown of nuclear
power plants in Germany it is only half the story. The maintenance
and the servicing of nulear disposals are not counted the costs over
more than 10000 years. The storage of high-risk waste from nuclear
power plants cost more than nuclear power plants obtain.
If nuclear power plants are shut down now, there are still costs. The estimate costs for the disposal was 100 billion U.S $ in 2007 and it increase up to 63% in 2011. And the bill will be more likely to go higher and it will be charged another 8000 generations. This is irresponsible and ethically not charged.
We need a broad european social consensus on how to handle the wise use of altenatives to nuclear power. This includes that there is no food for energy to be used. Natural resources are oxploited were they occur. New power supply systems must be built from the resources to urban cities and they do not belong to current comanies. Independent scientists have to seek for nuclear disposals which may be classified as safe.
Nothing must be suspend and there should be an open and transparent process by involving all european citizens.
